If you're looking to extend your wireless network coverage without the need for extra cables, you can use your TP-Link Archer C9 router as a wireless repeater. This method is also known as WDS Wireless Distribution System, and it allows you to expand your network by using the wireless signal to communicate with the main router.
Before you start, make sure your main router supports WDS and that both routers are running the same firmware version. Here are the steps to set up your Archer C9 as a wireless repeater:
Log in to your router's web interface by typing its IP address in a web browser. The default IP address for the Archer C9 is 192.168.0.1.
Go to the Wireless Wireless Settings page and set the following:
Wireless Radio: Enable
Name SSID: Enter the same SSID as the main router
Channel: Select the same channel as the main router
Security: Choose the same security mode and password as the main router
Go to the Wireless Wireless Security page and set the same security settings as the main router.
Go to the Advanced Wireless Wireless Settings page and set the following:
Operation Mode: Select Wireless Repeater
Wireless Network Name SSID: Enter the same SSID as the main router
Wireless Security: Choose the same security mode and password as the main router
Click "Save" to apply the settings. Your router will reboot and connect to the main router wirelessly.
