Whether you are doing speed reps, or slow reps, or arched back pull ups or L sit pull ups, control is KEY for getting the most out of your reps. You always want to know what your body is doing when you are moving. There are NO downsides to being in more control of your movement, but a ton of potential downside if you cannot control your movement.
