1% Private Track Day - 3rd Session Hot Laps - WRX
A get-together with some of my buddies at the local race track, Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, for some fun in the sun. In attendance were some awesome cars including a C7Z06, Viper T/A, Lamborghini Gallardo, F430 Scuderia, McLaren MP570, LSx swapped FD (2 of them), 997 Turbo, 991 GT3, Boxter, M3, M6, and a Spec Miata. This video is my no-drivin' ass in the pilots seat wheeling my basically stock suspension 2002 Subaru WRX sedan around the track.
It's been years since my last time driving at speed on this circuit, but I managed to match my fast times in my older, more prepared, Integra Type R. Funny thing is my WRX made 514hp on the local AWD dyno at 27psi. This day I ran 22psi and it was a chore to drive smoothly. Still a blast and it performed awesomely!
Oh, and I'm running 91 pump gas plus a Devil's Own methanol injection system with a size 7 nozzle. I could only manage two laps at speed before it would go into its fail safe mode so that's why I didn't run it any harder. This video was me trying to be full discloser before I posted up a couple of my other hot laps.
Car has a built 2.1L stroker motor with Crower 272 cams, it's running a BnM rotated GT3076R turbo kit, stock STi struts with Tein springs, 2006 STi Brembos, 2011 STi transmission and rear end, DSS 800hp rear axles, Competition twin disc clutch, and it is on some Volk Racing TE37's with Falken Azenis RT615k's in 245/45/18's.
