Story:
Kagome wants to in love with Hojo but is too scared to be with him to avoid the pain of breaking up if it doesn’t work out, meaning that they never actually get together with one another properly.
Without Kagome reciprocating his advances he moves on to a girl who does. Putting Kagome in the exact situation that she wanted to avoid and leaving her without a relationship.
