We continue on our 6-part aerial adventure inspired by the Grand Tour’s journey through Europe. Tonight we take the Beech Bonanza V35B by Carenado.
Part 3: From Gothic Spires to Alpine Peaks
Right, here we are, back in the cockpit, and today we’re strapping ourselves into the Beechcraft Bonanza V35B
The Bonanza V35B is a pilot’s aircraft through and through. It’s responsive, agile, and just a bit quirky, thanks to that V-tail. It’s the kind of plane that makes you feel connected to the air, like you’re not just flying but dancing with the wind. But be warned: it’s not as forgiving as some of the more modern aircraft. Get it right, and it rewards you with a smooth, exhilarating flight. Get it wrong, and it’ll remind you that it demands respect.
We’re starting in Wrocław, a city that’s changed hands more times than a used car at a dodgy dealership. It’s got Gothic spires, medieval squares, and more history than you can shake a stick at.
Then, we’re off to Kraków, a city so drenched in history, you’d think it invented the stuff. We’re talking castles, cobblestones, and more legends than a Lord of the Rings marathon. But the journey doesn’t stop there. Next, it’s off to Žilina—a Slovakian town that’s like the hidden treasure you find in an old attic. It’s small, it’s charming, and it’s got mountains that make you want to burst into song.
Finally, we’re touching down in Piešťany, where the hot springs have been telling people to take a bath for centuries. The airport museum is packed with Cold War-era aircraft, including a line up of MiG fighters that look like they’ve just taxied in from the Iron Curtain and the kind of scenery that makes you wonder why you’ve never been here before.
