Random's Gold Farm v2 - Minecraft Gold/XP farm Java 1.15+ (READ FULL DESCRIPTION)
READ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS!!!
NOTES:
If building this farm directly in 1.16+ instead of switching from 1.15 first, make sure the farm is built in the nether wasteland ONLY! Other biomes do not spawn zombified piglins/spawn them frequently enough to make it worth it. Also make sure to use magma blocks instead as piglins cannot spawn on it, but zombie piglins still can. This means in 1.16+ the trap doors/soul torch trick is not required.
The iron golems aren't actually needed, however IF magma cubes spawn (though rare), the could jump across the bridge and kill the player.
Using less than 24 minecarts can actually slow down the farm allowing for Hoppers to not be backed up. Using around 8 is good for a single hopper steam. It won't overflow or be empty too much.
Rates
About 950 gold ingots/hour in 1.15, 980 ingots/hour in 1.16 (with magma floors instead of trapdoors, ~850 with trapdoors.
Does this work on servers?
Yes, as long as they are a vanilla server and not bukkit/spigot. These non-vanilla servers seem to have issues with agro pigmen and break the agro chain between them. Rates on normal vanilla servers depend on what other players are doing, so may work fine, or entirely stop.
Materials:
About 50 stacks (3200) of spawning blocks
About 39 stacks (2496) of non-spawning blocks (leaves, glass, bottom slabs, that sort)
Around 2 stacks of half slabs for the center
2 hoppers
1 rail
1 hopper minecart
24 minecarts/hopper minecarts/a mix of both for suffocating pigmen
(1.16 trapdoor fix) 180 trapdoors (for 3 layers)
(1.16 trapdoor fix) 60 soul torches (for 3 layers)
4 - 8 iron golems (4-8 carved pumpkins and 16-32 iron blocks (144-288 iron ingots))
