Urine formation is the process of formation of urine as is evident from the term itself. This process occurs inside the structural and functional unit of kidney called the nephron.

The first step in the process is the glomerular filtration.
This is followed by selective reabsorption of the useful substances back into the kidney.

Last step in this process is the tubular secretion which is crucial in maintaining the normal blood pH.
