Herpes simplex is a viral infection caused by the HSV-1 and HSV-2. While talking about the etiology, information about primary infection and recurrence is also delivered.
Then the mechanism of human immunodeficiency virus-1 replication leading to HIV-1 transmission and disease progression is discussed under the heading of pathogenesis of herpes simplex viral infection.
