Inuyasha can’t accept Naraku’s treatment of Kagome and sets out to rescue her. Still under Naraku’s spell and believing he loves her and cares for her she pins Inuyasha to a tree stopping him from hurting Naraku.
Naraku takes her back to the Castle and starts treated her worse than ever because of one misplaced sentence in his presence: ‘It was nice to see you again.’ this had stirred up and lot a jealously and resentment.
Kagome tried all she can to get back into Naraku’s good books but with Inuyasha’s increasing interference, all her best efforts yield no results. Naraku realises Inuyasha is closing in and instead of moving as he had previously he let him and Kagome meet.
Watching from afar he is happy to learn he still has a strong hold on Kagome, loving watching the scene unfold and feels relieved when she disposes of Inuyasha. He goes to simply pick her up but in a moment of clarity Kagome lashes out at Naraku as her abuser.
Her attempt is easily foiled and she now faces an uncertain future at the hands of Naraku without a knight in shining armour she is now truly alone and helpless.
