This video demonstrates how add reinforcement to your finished socks in the areas that get the most wear. This is especially useful for people who are hard on their socks and/or when your sock yarn does not contain nylon.

My tutorial on how to knit custom fit socks is here:

The socks shown in this demonstration are both 100% wool with no nylon content.

The red socks are made from Chasing Rabbits Polwarth Fingering, in the color Velvet. This yarn is 100% Polwarth wool.

The striped socks are made from Urth Uneek Fingering, which is 100% merino (they do make a wool/nylon sock yarn, but this isn't it).

Yarn used in swatch demonstration: Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun worsted weight wool.
