In part 2 of this video, I assemble the movement of a cheap, key-wind, bedside alarm clock made in 2013.
The index:
0:00 Assembly of the movement's interior.
14:30 Oiling the movement.
16:02 Assembling the motion works and alarm-setting wheels.
20:36 Attaching the balance wheel supports.
28:26 Attaching the hairspring to the balance wheel.
34:31 Assembling the balance wheel into the movement.
39:59 Getting the clock ticking. Adjusting the hairspring.
56:27 Explaining why the clock period was too short.
I'm indebted to @okbridges for his excellent videos on alarm clock balance wheels: • Westclox Balance Wheel Motion and • Westclox Balance Wheel Remove and Install

I bought this Advance brand bedside alarm clock from Goodwill for $1.99 USD, to learn how to repair a clock that has a balance wheel and hairspring instead of a pendulum. It is very cheaply made, with plastic gears pressed onto steel arbors, but it is similar to older, brass alarm clock movements you might see.
