GIMP 2.8 Tutorial - How to install the G'MIC plugin
How to install the G'MIC plugin for GIMP 2.8 - and get over 400+ new filters for free!!. The G'MIC plug-in is free and available from http://gmic.sourceforge.net/ - it is a plug-in for GIMP which contains extra filters. G'MIC is Open Source software like GIMP itself.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This tutorial is for GIMP 2.8.x ONLY!!!! - if you are using an older version of GIMP such as 2.6 or earlier, you will need to use the 32bit version of G'MIC
UPDATED INFORMATION, since the release of GIMP 2.8.6 for Windows, some people have been having problems installing the newest GMIC on Windows 64bit systems. If you are having a problem I suggest you visit the GMIC forums post here: http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=2... - "samj" has a solution to the problem which works for me on GIMP 2.8.6 with the newest version of the GMIC plug-in in a Windows 64bit environment.
